Education

Daniel is a much sought-after organ tutor throughout the UK, Europe and Australia, giving master classes, workshops and individual tuition on a regular basis. He is Head of Organ Studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, directing a highly acclaimed department. Current and past students have included some of the next generation's top performers and include many university and cathedral organ scholars. He has appeared as a regular guest tutor on courses such as those run by the RCO Academy and the RSCM and was a visiting organ tutor at Chetham's School of Music, Manchester for six years. He examines for the Royal College of Organists and has been on numerous UK conservatoire exam and audition panels, as well as appearing as an adjudicator in festivals and competitions (as both a generalist and specialist).

Daniel has also been at the forefront of outreach work involving the organ. This has included the highly regarded ‘Stops Away!’ project at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester (funded by the RCO and the Pilling Trust), various projects at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, popular concerts across the UK aimed at families and children, and outreach events in Australia.
